Mr. Davon Harris '99
I am a proud graduate of North Carolina Central University, earning my Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting in Fall 1999 as a School of Business Direct Admit. My formative years at NCCU were defined by leadership and service; I participated in both Air Force and Army R.O.T.C., joined the Alpha Kappa Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and served as Mr. Bon Vivant for the Bon Vivant Fashion Society. These experiences instilled in me a deep sense of discipline, brotherhood, and a lifelong commitment to dear ole NCC.
My dedication to NCCU remains steadfast. As an active member of the National and Raleigh-Wake Alumni Associations, I have continuously sought ways to give back, including serving as the official DJ for the Annual Day of Giving campaigns from 2021 to 2023, helping to energize donors and drive support for my Alma Mater. My passion for service extends to my community, where I volunteer with the A/V and Food Distribution teams at Springfield Baptist Church.
Professionally, I bring 30 years of experience in Finance and Banking, having held leadership roles as Assistant Branch Manager, General Ledger Accounting Manager, and Finance Manager. As a graduate of the Dale Carnegie Leadership Effectiveness Program, I am committed to continuous growth and professional excellence.
I am seeking to represent NCCU as Mr. Alumni with one clear purpose: to make a lasting impact on future Eagles, ensuring they have the financial support needed to achieve their dreams and soar to heights that only Eagles can.

Ms. Trinity Murray '20
I am a proud graduate of North Carolina Central University whose passion for leadership, service, and youth empowerment was strengthened during my time on campus. Since graduating, I have remained committed to giving back through mentorship, community engagement, and initiatives that support the next generation of leaders. As a recent alumna, I understand the value of having alumni who invest in students, as that support played a significant role in my own success. My goal is to continue building meaningful connections between alumni and students while representing the excellence, legacy, and Eagle pride that define NCCU.

Mrs. Latasha Billups Sledge '96
North Carolina Central University is more than my alma mater—it is the foundation that shaped my leadership, purpose, and lifelong commitment to service. As a proud 1996 graduate, NCCU provided me with an environment that nurtured excellence, cultural pride, and a responsibility to uplift others. My connection to the university extends well beyond graduation through continued alumni involvement, advocacy, and support of student-centered initiatives that advance the legacy of NCCU.
Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have embraced leadership roles that emphasize collaboration, integrity, and impact. Whether mentoring students, supporting alumni programming, or engaging in community-based efforts, I remain dedicated to service that reflects NCCU’s mission of truth and service. Community engagement has always been central to my values, and I actively participate in initiatives that promote education, empowerment, and social responsibility. As an active member of the Nash-Edgecombe NCCU, I continue to support initiatives that strengthen the bond between the university and within my community.
Professionally, I have pursued excellence with the same determination instilled in me at NCCU, earning opportunities to lead, innovate, and serve with purpose. My achievements as Human Resources Development/Career Readiness Certification Coordinator with Edgecombe Community College and Broker/Owner of my own firm, Opening Doors Real Estate, LLC are a direct reflection of the education, mentorship, and confidence I gained as a student. I am motivated to represent North Carolina Central University as the 2026 Ms. NCCU Alumni to honor its rich legacy, amplify the voices of its alumni, celebrate the accomplishments of its graduates and inspire future generations to lead boldly. Serving in this role would allow me to embody the pride, resilience, and excellence that define the Eagle experience

Mrs. Nikki Smoot '95
As a proud four-time graduate of North Carolina Central University, NCCU has shaped my personal journey, professional career, and lifelong dedication to service. My education journey at NCCU includes:
1995- B.A. Public Administration
2001- B.A. Elementary Education, Magna Cum Laude
2007- B.S. Early Childhood Education, Magna Cum Laude
2014- M. Ed – School Administration
Each degree represents more than an academic achievement. NCCU opened doors of opportunity, strengthened my leadership skills, and instilled in me the values of Truth and Service. As an educator and leader, I have devoted my career to empowering children and supporting families; work inspired by the foundation I received at our beloved university.
Beyond my professional responsibilities, I remain actively engaged in organizations that reflect my commitment to education, leadership, and service. I am a member of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Incorporated, an organization dedicated to fostering professional growth among educators and promoting excellence in education. I am also a member of The Order of Eastern Star PHA, Drucilla Chapter #19. Additionally, I am a Girl Scout Troop Leader for 01192 in Durham, N.C.
My motivation for representing North Carolina Central University as Ms. NCCU Alumni is knowing that all monies raised will be used to support the future generations of Eagles, in order that they have the same life-changing opportunities that NCCU provided me. For many students, financial assistance can mean the difference between pursuing their dreams and putting them on hold and together, we can invest in their futures and continue NCCU’s legacy of preparing leaders who make a difference in their communities and beyond.

Dr. Alicia Michele Telfaire '05
They say your roots shape your wings, and mine began in Simpson, North Carolina, just outside of Greenville.
Hey y’all! I’m Dr. Alicia Michele Telfaire, though most people know me as Dr. Cheley. I’m a proud North Carolina Central University Eagle and member of the Class of 2005, where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. NCCU didn’t just educate me, it helped shape the leader, servant, and community advocate I am today.
After graduating, I went on to earn my Doctorate in Business Administration with a concentration in Management, strengthening my commitment for leadership, service, and creating opportunities for others. I now reside in Atlanta, Georgia, but no matter where life takes me, I carry the same heart, energy, and Eagle pride into everything I do.
Today, I am revitalizing Opportunities Make Destinies, Inc. (OMD), a 501c3 nonprofit organization I founded to address homelessness and the growing housing crisis by creating pathways to stability, dignity, and opportunity.
Many people also know me through #KickballBAE, which grew from my love of competitive kickball into a platform for community connection and impact. Fun fact, I’ve played competitive coed kickball on ESPN, proving my competitive spirit shows up both on and off the field.
Running for Ms. NCCU Alumni is deeply personal. This campaign honors or legacy, uplifts future Eagles, and celebrates the power of community.
More than anything, this moment is about service, leadership, and love for the community that
helped mold me.
Eagle Pride… Amplified.
