It’s all about students helping students. The I Heart My 1910 Student Scholarship Fund is entirely funded by donations from the student body and will be awarded to an NCCU student each semester.
As a part of supporting this initiative, The Senior Class Challenge is a fundraising opportunity inviting seniors of the graduating Class of 2024 to support the I Heart My 1910 Student Scholarship Fund and show their Eagle Pride amplified, leaving their lasting legacy after graduation.
WHAT IT MEANS TO WEAR THE CORD
Graduating seniors who make a gift of at least $19.10 to the I Heart My 1910 Student Scholarship Fund by Dec. 12 will be able to pick up a philanthropy cord to wear during commencement, recognizing their commitment to serving their peers and giving back to the Nest.
Pickup for philanthropy cords will be held at the William Jones Building (located in the Shepard Circle right of the Shepard Statue) Dec. 10-12 from 10 a.m. until 4pm each day.
WHY GIVE?
• You’ve been impacted by private giving. Philanthropy makes a lasting impact on every area of campus. No matter your major or extracurricular activities, your time as part of the Nest was made possible by previous seniors’ gifts.
• The I Heart My 1910 Student Scholarship Fund has been selected as the fund to support. By giving to this fund, you will be supporting another deserving student.
• Tuition doesn’t cover everything. With tuition only covering about a third of the real cost of an undergraduate education, NCCU counts on private support. These gifts help close the gap between what each student pays in tuition and fees, and the actual cost of an NCCU education, which helps the university maintain its reputation as a best value.
